Hi, I'm Elaine!

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and proudly celebrate my mixed heritage from Dominican Republic. I have a passion for designing experiences and have been professionally making them for over 8 years. I focus on crafting systems and features that are focused on gameplay and accessibility. I also enjoy level design and creating spaces that encourage exploration, strategy and flexibility for different player types. My design philosophy aligns with systemic and iterative design. My interests in UI/UX, music, and programming all inform my design perspective.

I’m a proud co-founder and Vice President of Latinx In Gaming, a non-profit organization creating a community and advocating for game industry professionals identifying as Latine in the US and across Latin America. I serve as laison for our partners, sponsors, and community members. I also assist Gay Gaming Professionals as Community Director for the Advanced Android Game Makers program, where I plan and organize mobile game development workshops, webinars, and panels for community members. Outside of the program, I support meetings between partners and draft proposals for activations.

I have a heart for young people and a desire to give back to the community. I'm always looking for ways to teach game design and development and encourage the pursuit of STEM fields. I mentor young game developers in my free time and volunteer for organizations like Code Coven, Cal Marginalized Genders in Gaming and PRGDA.
